I just received the Sherwin Williams Magazine and the color forecast for 2010.
Mystery, Enduring, Natural the Rooted Colors are absolutely wonderful for those of us that like dark natural colors. Try Red Tomato, Rockwood Amber, Darkwood, Nomadic Desert, Foothills, and Oceanside to add drama and warmth to your rooms. These colors are simple yet brilliant.
Translucent, Sophisticated, Structure designed from the elements. Butter Up, Serious Gray, Whitetail, Enigma, Moderate White and Magnetic Gray offer clean silhouettes, translucent layers, transparent materials. Wonderful with tailored upholstery. Use is soft matte or glazed finishes. In Sherwin Williams' words "Sometimes there is nothing more sophisticated than simple, shimmering clarity". I agree.
Treasured.....Aging, Layers, Artisan describe Sturdy Brown, Gallery Green, Interactive Cream, Caribbean Coral, Sequin, and Smoky Blue. Great with weathered and bleached woods, distressed features, vintage patterns. This palette reflects the beauty of natural aging, mellowing and weathering. They stand the test of time and reassuring colors.
Refreshed....exuberant, fresh, optimism. Tropical, vibrant tones with rejuvenating power. Animated Coral, Pickle, Fun Yellow, Sapphire, Summer Day, and Verde Violet, all nature inspired, great with natural, light wood tones, floral and patterned fabrics. Combined offer unexpected color combinations.
Wall murals are also very popular. Paint murals for headboards, back splashes, wall accents, bathroom personality, almost anywhere you need art and definition. Be brave and daring with your creativity. Murals in stripes, florals, geometric elements, contemporary art style....let your imagination flow.
As a interior decorator, redesigner and stager, I love color. It is amazing how it can change your home, rooms, and even your life.
TIP: When changing the color in a room......have the primer tinted the color you are painting.
