I am not DECORATING I am STAGING!

Okay here are the before pictures of the master bedroom, bath and great room. The seller felt her home was absolutely beautiful and could not understand why the Realtor wanted me to come in. This home has been on the market for two and one half years and no offers. As I began my work the owner followed me and kept saying "this is just not working", "I can't believe you bought those candlesticks". "Would you put this is your home?". Well no, but my home is decorated with me and my husband in mind, not a new owner. I tried and tried to explain, we are not decorating for our personal taste, we are staging so that your house appeals to a broader market. We are updating the decor some to appeal to a wider range of buyers.....deaf ears. On I go.....I am thinking boy does this look better, she is pouting and not real happy, calls the daughter, calls the Realtor. The Realtor loves what has been done, he calls the daughter, who know what is going to happen when I leave.

So you guess which pictures are before and which are after. I was hurt....and a little miffed, but kept my cool. I honestly feel that if more seller will trust us, and divorce themselves from their home....realize it is a house....and that their goal is to get it sold. Hard to convey. If we take the time to prepare action plans, and they don't want to follow them, then just say so.

Wow, I have vented, thanks. This home could be absolutely stunning and is now at least a bit better for the effort. I hope it sells soon.
